There are evidences which show that it was built in the 12tc century and it was beautifully painted in 1164. The monastery bears the name St. Panteleimon which is known as the protector of health.
The interiror of the monastery is splendid, here you will find outstanding frescoes which are painted to perfection. Some of the most popular fresco paintings are: the Raising of Lazarus, the Entry into Jerusalem, the Presentation of the Mother of God to the Temple, Transfiguration and the Descent from the Cross.
