In 1964 from the Macedonian National Theater a group of prominent young actors and actresses join the Drama Theater and in 1967 the members win the main award for best act in Novi Sad (then Yugoslavia, now Serbia). From this year onwards the theater obtained the official name Drama Theater - Skopje.
